Smoke Alarms Alert Residents Of Bedroom Fire

Fond du Lac, WI:  On Monday November 30, 2015 at 5:45 a.m. Fond du Lac Fire Rescue were called to 115 Rose Ave for a reported fire in a upstairs bedroom.  Upon arrival fire crews confirmed smoke coming from a bedroom window on the Southwest corner of the 2-story single family residence.  Fire attack crew was able to successfully locate and extinguish the fire.

The fire was contained to the second floor bedroom, but the home sustained smoke damage throughout.  All occupants were able to exit the home without injury.  Smoke alarms were present and notified the occupants of the fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation but initial findings indicate that clothes left too close to a light fixture may have been the cause of the fire.  The Red Cross and Alliant Energy were called to the scene to assist.  The Fond du Lac Police assisted with traffic  and on-scene management.
