Citizen 911 Activation Limits Fire Damage
 Fond du Lac, WI:  On September 17, 2013 at 5:26 AM the Fond du Lac Fire Department was dispatched to a reported
fire at Manor Care Nursing Home at 265 South National Avenue.  A person
driving by noticed the fire and their quick reaction to call 911 helped aid a
rapid response from the FD.  Upon arrival, fire crews investigated the building to find a rooftop HVAC unit on fire.  The fire was contained to the unit and was
quickly extinguished by fire crews.  The nursing staff moved the patients
from the affected area of building to an unaffected section.  There were
no reported injuries at the scene.  The fire crews continued the investigation to find light smoke inside of the computer room, but no fire extension was found.  There was no smoke or water damage to the interior of the building.  Alliant was called to the scene to secure the power.  City Police assisted with traffic control.
