Overnight Fire Guts Fond du Lac Duplex

Fond du Lac, WI: On Tuesday December 1, 2015 at 3:05 a.m. FDLFR was dispatched for a reported structure fire at 307 W. 2nd Street. Upon arrival fire crews encountered heavy smoke conditions with some visible fire.  Companies began to search for victims and locate the origin of the fire.  It was determined that the duplex was vacant and unoccupied. The fire had traveled though some void spaces and into the attic area which made extinguishment difficult. The fire was extinguished but not before it heavily damaged the inside of the structure.

Police and Fire Investigators are on scene working to determine the cause and origin of the fire. The exact cause of the fire is undetermined and remains under investigation.  Besides the FDL Police, FDLFR was assisted by Alliant Energy, Red Cross and the City Water Utility.
