Fond du Lac Fire Department Receives Generous Donation

Tenth Anniversary of September 11 Honors Rescue Workers and Military Personnel

FOND DU LAC, WI – Fond du Lac fire officials received a check in the amount of $450 from Heather Perry, the 18-year-old 2011 graduate of Fond du Lac High School who coordinated a very successful campaign to honor rescue workers and military personnel on 9-11.

“Heather organized a very moving and meaningful event at the American Legion on Sunday, Sept. 11. We (the fire department) were honored to have been invited to participate,” said Fond du Lac Fire Chief Peter O’Leary. “It’s incredible to think that one young person’s vision turned reality had such a positive impact on the community. We are grateful for the generous donation she and her father, Michael, presented to us.”

The fire department will use the money to help in ongoing fire prevention programs which benefit the Fond du Lac community.
