One Person Sent to Hospital after Fire Heavily Damages Fond du Lac Home

Fond du Lac, WI: On April 6, 2015 at 12:21 AM, Fond du Lac Fire / Rescue responded to a report of smoke and flames coming from a residential home at 20 South Lincoln Street.  Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy fire on the first and second floor of a two story home.  In addition, fire crews dealt with close exposures problems of other residential properties to the north and south of the incident.  Crews contained the fire to the building of origin with no damage to exposures. No one was home at the time of the fire. One person was transported by Fond du Lac Fire / Rescue to Saint Agnes Hospital for smoke inhalation after attempting to gain entry into the structure prior to the arrival of Fond du Lac Fire / Rescue.  Alliant Energy was called to the scene to assist with utility disconnects.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.  The Fond du Lac Police Department assisted on scene with traffic control and is continuing to assist Fond du Lac Fire / Rescue in the ongoing investigation.
