FDL Fire Department receives two Mercury inflatable rescue boats

Demonstrates New Rescue Boats for the Media When:  October 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.Where:  Location to Be Determined—Meet at FDL Fire Station 1  Fond du Lac, WI:  The Fond du Lac Fire Department (FDLFD) recently took delivery of two Mercury inflatable rescue boats and a tandem trailer by working jointly with Mercury Marine and Mr. Marine.  The FDLFD will use these assets not only along the south shore of Lake Winnebago, but in the rivers that wind throughout the city, retention ponds, and in areas of flooding.  The FDLFD  has previously deployed waterway resources  not only in rescues, but has served to locate victims, deploy booming for hazardous materials spills, ice rescue, assisting the Fond du Lac Police Department in water investigations, and submerged boat and vehicle incidents.  On October 16, 2013 the Fire Department will be conducting training with the new rescue boats to educate their members of the capabilities these added resources offer.  Interested media outlets are asked to be at FDLFD Station 1 (815 S.
