Adult Female Injured After Fall From Railroad Bridge

FOND DU LAC, WI – On Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 5:38 p.m. Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue responded to an EMS call near Donahue Court for a female that had fallen 15 feet from a railroad bridge.  The patient was located about a half mile from the road in a wooded area.  FDL Fire/Rescue paramedics assessed the patient and requested the 6-wheel EMS ATV to respond to their location.  The EMS ATV is a medical unit that is used to treat and extricate patients from remote areas.  Paramedics continued to assess and treat the patient during transport to the ambulance.  They notified Flight For Life and requested their assistance.  Due to the scene location the ambulance transported the patient to the Flight For Life airport hangar for transport to the trauma center.  It appeared that the patient had non-life threatening injuries, but due to the mechanism of injury was transported to the trauma center for further evaluation.  FDL Police personnel assisted with the call.
